The world had caved in, suffocating. Choking sobs wracked the young Elvin half-breed. Emmelyne held the motionless girl to her, no longer caring that the wolves watched on. No longer caring that her protective barrier had dropped. Nothing mattered now. She had failed. As she was destine to. But accepting one’s fate is easier said than done.
Eldin stood guard of his daughter, brandishing his horn and using the meager Elvin magics which he had been left with. Unimpressed, but not stupid enough to start a war with the Elvin, the wolves eventually receded into the shadows of the forest.
