Wind and Fire

"GIDDYUP HORSEY!!!" Sky exclaimed, a look of pure excitement on her face. The inhabitants of the town she'd recently saved from fire had been kind enough to give her a horse... well, she had saved their lives...

As the horse slowed down to drink by a large pond, Sky pushed a strand of silvery hair behind her ear. She watched hungrily, knowing there must be a few fish in the pond. She smiled; examining the spot the horse had chosen to stop at. She was at the edge of a small field, a few hills were off in the distance, and an apple tree stood, only a few feet away. Some trees framed the area... it was perfect. She jumped off the horse's back, and sat in the shade, leaning on the apple tree's trunk.

"Ya know... you don't have a name!" Sky said to the horse, who just continued munching on some grass.

"Hmm.......... Spoony?" She suggested, playing with the spoon she had taken out of her bag. The horse merely snorted in reply.

"Okay!" Sky exclaimed, laughing. She glanced around for a moment.

"Hmmmmmm........Talitha? I like that!" The horse looked up, extremely happy.

"Okies....Talitha, Tali for short....Can I dye you purple??"

The horse snorted again, obviously not thrilled at the idea of being dyed purple.

"Aww....... Why not? You'd look cute purple..... Or pink...or blue! With little bows and flowers, Or....I could make ya a pretty light blue, with purple spots, and dye your mane and tail pink, and braid your tail! And put flowers and bows in your mane....aww you'll be so cute!" Sky exclaimed, with an overly sweet, and slightly evil tone that would scare anyone.

The horse reared up, and trotted behind a few trees.

"Aww.....come on, I was just kidding...waaaaiiiiit, why am I talking to a horse? heh...I really need to find a friend..." Sky trailed off to herself, before realizing that it was getting dark.

"It's getting dark, ya wanna stay here? This spot is really Spoony and all...." Sky trailed off, before noticing that the horse had made it's opinion obvious, by going back to the pond, and drinking some more water.

"Allllrighty then! I'll make a fire!" Sky exclaimed, wandering off to gather some firewood.

Sky returned, quite a while later, to find Tali, and for some reason, a fish from the pond. "Ooh, I didn't know ya were a fisher horse!!!" Sky giggled, not quite knowing that horses couldn't fish. She plopped onto the ground, arranging the pathetic collection of wood and dried grass she'd found.

Quite some time later, Sky was ready to give up. She had tried every method of making a fire that she knew, and she had no success.

"Dammit...." She muttered, when she heard a rustling in the apple tree's branches above her. She quickly looked up, but there was nothing above She felt a sudden heat, and looked back to the pile of sticks, only to see a blazing fire in its place.

She tried to relax, but something....wasn't right..... things were going too perfectly...

'Oh well,' Sky thought. 'Things seem a little different from usual recently...' She had come to one town, completely wrecked by an earthquake... and had to heal many people there. Things just seemed different... she felt anxious for no reason, like something was going to happen that she knew about... but didn't know about..... 'Oh, well,' She thought again. 'Whatever happens, happens, it's just a matter of fate...!' And with that thought, she cooked and ate the fish, pulled the coat over her body, to get to sleep.

Sky had been asleep, for about an hour, when the boy who had been sitting in the tree above her drifted off to sleep........ and fell out of the tree, right onto Sky.

"ACK!!" Sky screamed, immediately jumping up. Tali reared, and galloped off in surprise.

"What did you do that for!!!!??" Sky screamed. She was not quite the morning person....well, it wasn't morning... more like late night...or very, very early morning.

      "I-I'm sorryy..." The boy stuttered.
