"What do you think you're doing?" She asked.
"OK, I stuttered, I'm sorry I've spied on you, but..."
"No, not that!" She exclaimed.
"What are you talking about?" I asked the girl.
"Are you making fun of me or what?" She demanded.
"No, not at all."
"Well, can you answer to me please?" The girl continued.
"Hum... Where are we? I asked, trying to see if she could help me out of the woods.
"Oh! You're lost... She exclaimed"
"Yeah, I'm not really familiar with forests." Can you help me?"
"Sure!" She replied.
"Great thanks a lot!"
I was surprised that the girl gave me a hug. I guess it was a friendly hug, but, I was never quite sure. It all went so well, I never though that all would have been like that. She nearly seemed glad that I was lost. I got out from behind my tree, and I saw the second travel companion. The only things that really stood out about him were his reddish hair, and the strange face he made when he saw me. I can't really describe it, for I wanted to forget about that. We started walking away from this position.
The road seemed long: always the green trees, bending over, giving headaches, with their light angle calculated by the sweet nature, the leaves, the plants, the flowers. It was always the same thing, and I don't think I could stand it for long. During the way, the girl picked up some flowers, threw them around, but I didn't notice what she was doing with them, I was only walking and looking around, look at our path, a little bit bored of always seeing trees. Strangely, during quite a while, the two persons didn't talk to me, didn't even turn their eyes to look at mine, the pain that I felt: I was beginning to have some trouble walking, for I wasn't habituated to the forest's roughness. After some time, the lady turned around, and finally began talking to me again:
"What's your name?" asked the girl.
"My name is Frederick, what's yours?" I replied.
"My name is Sky", answered the girl.
"And mine is Andrew," The red haired boy spoke up.
"How did you get lost?" She asked.
"Well, I was looking for something. I was sitting in the snow..."
I paused. I found out that something was definitively not right about that portal. I finally knew what was wrong: my coat had vanished. I never wanted to tell them that, they would say I'm just an idiot that wants to entrap them with some joke. At that moment, I became nervous, really nervous. It was a good thing they didn't saw me shaking: they could have asked some strange questions. At some moment, some strange sounds came from around us, from all around the green background. Sky restarted the discussion:
"Holy spoon! Did you hear that?" Sky exclaimed.
"What could possibly do that noise? Andrew asked.
"I don't know, and I don't even want to find out." I stated.
"I don't think we are safe here," Andrew said immediately.
"I don't think go somewhere else would help either..." Sky replied.
The sound came from closer, and closer. It seemed like three things walking, three big creatures. Both of my new friends got ready to fight, but since I had no weapons, I just prepared my self for everything, except to get out my pendant: I could not take the risk of showing the mysterious pendant that I prized. Three creatures got out of the wood. They were ugly, green, and they seemed pretty strong. They began attacking, so we responded to their acts by the only logical mean. Sky was trying to hit them with her sword, Andrew tried to fry one with his flame, and I tried to dodge the last of the companion's blow. My friends were bravely fighting, but they couldn't get over their enemies for some time, but they finally beat them after a little while. I wasn't that lucky: the third creature fled. I knew it was my responsibility, but I didn't win, or even hit him. For the rest of the day, I had a lot of criticism from my friends: "You should have hit him, you shouldn't have, why did you, you brought us trouble..." I wanted to tell them about the fate of my stick, but I couldn't, I would have to talk about the pendant story, the creature, where I was coming from, and all. I couldn't take any risks now. I had nowhere to hide and nowhere to be found. After a while, they finally quit doing so. I was glad, but it was to find a spot to stay for the night. We finally found one, and we got some tasks: I had to find some wood for the fire. I got back an hour later, with plenty of it, so Andrew started a fire, with his though. I was surprised by his way of doing so, even if I saw his power during the battle. Sky got back with some food, and after the meal, the little critics restarted again. This time, I didn't like that. They wanted me to guard them while they slept, and since I like to help people, well, I accepted. As soon as they got asleep, began the nightly wait, the longest torture I had to endure up to now in my life.
In the middle of the moon's hours, the real torture began. I began thinking about what happened during the day: I had a reason to fight to creature, it attacked us, but after all that, they didn't help me. I didn't trust in my self before, and now it's a little bit worse. Why do they have to criticize my way of acting? I couldn't have really done better: I was unarmed, and for hitting the creature, it seemed waiting that I hit it, but I never did, and the creature ran away. Why were my "friends" getting angry when I tried to help them? I never got in the last month a single thank you for everything that I had done. I soon realized that I had nothing to hold me back with Sky and Andrew. Of course, they were helping me find my way, but nothing else. I stood up, watched the two persons. They seemed nice, yes, but if they would have tried supporting me a little. I knew it was the best I could have done, but do they wanted more? I started walking away slowly from the little camp. Some short while after, I stopped. I could I be so... I get back to the camp. They helped me out in the woods, I should give them something, but the only thing left that I could give was the pendant. I thought a lot of the consequences before giving it to one of them. I put the pendant in the hands of Sky, and I started walking away, trying to finish finding my way.
